A mother and her son have flown home to Singapore from Bangkok, where they became victims of the deadly bombing in Bangkok on Monday.
The two injured Singaporeans arrived at Singapore General Hospital yesterday afternoon to seek further medical care, Channel NewsAsia reports — though it is unclear about the extent of their injuries.
58-year-old Michelle Heng had previously underwent surgery to remove shrapnel and requires a ventilator to help her breathe. Meanwhile, her 21-year-old son Donovan Chan is afflicted with superficial burns and shrapnel wounds.
The explosion at Bangkok was set off in front of the Erawan shrine at the Rajaprasong area in central Bangkok, a spot popular with tourists. Among the 20 confirm deaths, seven were tourists — one Singaporean, two Chinese nationals, two Malaysians and two Hong Kong nationals while 125 others were injured.
So far, no party has claimed responsibility for the evening rush-hour bombing, though Thai authorities have so far identified three suspects believed to be involved in the attack. Coconuts Bangkok reports that they’ve since released a sketch of the main suspect, and are offering a 1 million baht reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
