A 50-year-old driver was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs and suspected of being involved in other drug-related offenses yesterday.

The Singapore Police Force said they were alerted to the incident at 7:30am where videos circulating online today showed a man in red passed out on the floor with his phone to his chest, on a pedestrian walkway along Jalan Sultan outside Textile Centre.

No elaborate details have been revealed by the police except a conscious 33-year-old woman who was involved in the accident was taken to Raffles Hospital.

In one video, the man was surrounded by multiple Caution Wet Floor signs and safety cones while an officer was standing next to him as passersby walked past and stared. A Lalamove van was parked next to him and a fallen signboard, which was believed to be knocked down by him, was also not too far away.

He was later seen standing up on his feet (though swaying) with two police officers trying to arrest him by a police car.

Investigations are ongoing.
