The pure adorability of this wee puppy wasn’t enough to shield itself from being subject to alleged animal abuse — a case that has raised the ire of dog lovers everywhere.
In a case of suspected dog abuse, the puppy was found without its tail along Pasir Ris Farmway last Friday (Apr 21), with its wounded rump surrounded by maggots. A dog trainer uploaded a post on Facebook about the poor pup’s plight, strongly suspecting that someone had sliced off its tail due to the clean cut.
Speaking to The Straits Times, Chan stated that a feeder found the tail-less puppy along Pasir Ris Farmway and sent it to the vet for treatment. Voices for Animals president Derrick Tan also suspected that it could have been deliberate abuse, and the puppy’s tail could have been cut off or tightly wound with a rubber band.
In any case, the little doggo has since received proper love and care from the vets at Barkway Pet Health. The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) is already conducting investigations.
