Around the time that SMRT announced a service disruption in the North South Line this morning, the Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to a fire at the Ang Mo Ko MRT station.
SCDF dispatched two fire engines, two red rhinos, an ambulance and six support vehicles to the scene — and the fire was put out using two 9kg fire extinguishers, the Straits Times reported four hours later.
An electrical panel caught fire, according to ST’s tweet.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and if it affected the two-hour NSL train service disruption.
