Pretending to “drink” from the water of the Merlion’s spout? Yeah, we’ve all been there, tourist or not. Just search those #MerlionSingapore images and you’ll find plenty of Merlion Park visitors guzzling the fountain flow from afar or trying to cup some of that H2O with their outstretched hands.
Rarely do we see people getting more creative with the Singapore icon, but it appears the landmark’s photo/video opportunities have yet to be fully explored, thanks a Thai influencer by the name of Mayy R.
The quirky lady had an unconventional approach to the Merlion, miming squeezing a shampoo bottle and running her fingers through her tresses as if she was washing her hair with water spurting out from the statue’s mouth. Just a few seconds long, her short clip went up in May, when she visited the country, but only started to make the rounds online in Singapore this week.
Her video was also accompanied by a cheeky pic of her pretending to scrub her hair with the water flow.
