A case of revenge by a jilted lover left 38-year-old domestic worker Allen Remedios with lacerations on her throat and her left hand.
The Filipino national was reportedly slashed with a 15cm paper cutter by her former boyfriend, who fled after the incident at an HDB block in Tampines last Sunday evening. The 41-year-old man has since been arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means, The New Paper reports.
According to her employer, Jose Mari Camacho, Remedios is currently in hospital and in stable condition.
The attack, however, has left the household in fear of further assaults. Camacho’s wife and their other maid were especially traumatised by the incident and have been too afraid to leave their house. “I think it’ll take some time till we’re over it,” remarked Camacho to The New Paper.
The man (pictured above) will be charged in court this morning.
