Ashley Madison: We’re not breaking the law

AshleyMadison.com Noel Biderman has responded to the government’s decision to ban the online dating site in Singapore.

CEO Noel Biderman said in a statement he is disappointed and thinks there’s no excuse for the government’s decision as infidelity is not a criminal act in Singapore and therefore AshleyMadison.com will be breaking no laws.

“(Ashley Madison) does not aggressively promote extra-marital affairs,” said Biderman, who is also the founder of the site.

He also described the site as a platform that merely “cannibalises” an already existing behaviour pattern.

The company is speaking with experts in the hopes of challenging the decision made by the Media Development Authority of Singapore.
