Folks undeterred in their mission for Instagram-worthy food and knick knacks at Artbox Singapore should, in theory, have an easier time navigating its notoriously overcrowded premises this weekend.

According to sources speaking to The Straits Times, the pop-up hipster market made the wise decision of widening walking areas by removing two whole rows of shops. Gates have also been set up for better crowd control as well.

A wireless paging system will be implemented at popular food stalls so visitors can actually walk around instead of standing in line. Crowd status updates will be posted on the reg on their Facebook event page and Artbox Singapore’s Instagram page. We doubt that crowds will ease up, ‘cause it is the last week of the event after all.

The event faced overwhelming public derision for being a total bitch to walk through, with attendees getting squished by sweaty bodies due to overcrowding and poorly-arranged layout. Held at the Bayfront Event Space beside Marina Bay Sands, the 50,000 sq ft premises proved to be an inadequate expanse to accommodate 320 vendors and thousands of enthusiastic patrons.

Artbox Singapore was plagued by a wave of complaints, including long waits for food and drinks, overpriced products, lack of personal space and the inability to actually enjoy the time spent there.

Though the event has been accused of being poorly organised, we also blame all the excessive hype the media (including us, unfortunately) threw onto the event, which had already enjoyed massive popularity in Bangkok, where it first started.
