Internet vigilantes may have already identified him (though nobody’s sure if they got the right person), but it seems the law has finally caught up to this man’s misdeeds.

Police have nabbed a 27-year-old man believed to be the individual in subject of a viral clip, where he was seen stealing his Grab driver’s money. The thief was said to have made away with over $500 from the driver’s wallet, which he grabbed from the backseat and returned before alighting at his destination. A screenshot of a conversation on WhatsApp revealed that the thief stole three days’ worth of the driver’s earnings.

The police have since revealed that they received a report on July 23 about the case of theft, noting that the stolen money amounted to about $450 in cash. The suspect was arrested yesterday after police established his identity via CCTVs and enquiries on the ground.
