In yet another failed attempt to claim compensation via intentional hurling of body onto a vehicle, a man landed himself in both online ridicule and trouble with the police after dashcam footage of his stunt went viral.

Authorities were alerted to an incident along Pasir Ris Farmway 2 yesterday afternoon, where a drunk man was arrested for committing a rash act. A dashcam video uploaded on Facebook yesterday showed what exactly happened — a 35-year-old man had been standing in the middle of the road before sprinting towards the stationary car and jumping on its bonnet. It’s bonkers, really.

Channel NewsAsia reports that the man then demanded compensation from the driver after complaining about the injury. A classic fake accident scam attempt that would have been successful before dash cams were common.

Investigations are ongoing, say the police. Forget about the suspect’s condition; hopefully the car turned out okay.
