For eight hours, a woman danced like no one was watching in the middle of Bedok Town Centre on Sunday.
Her solo performance started as early as 7am, Lianhe Wanbao reported, and continued till about 3pm. Even when it started to rain heavily, she danced on and on. Onlookers only became concerned when her dance moves were said to have gotten increasingly strange, with both her arms swaying while her feet remained stationary.
She then started to strip down to her underwear, whipped off her wet clothes, and walked around the vicinity. Oddly, it took that long for someone to finally alert the police — surely eight hours of dancing in the rain and shine can’t be considered normal?
A video of the incident had been uploaded on social media earlier this week, but it seems to have been taken down.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested the lady, understood to be a 39-year-old Vietnamese national. She was later accompanied by her family to the Institute of Mental Health for a psychiatric assessment.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the dude who wore nothing but boots, spectacles and a lanyard while travelling around Tampines.
