In a case of daylight armed robbery, a man was arrested after stealing about $1,000 from a Shell petrol station at 219 Upper Bukit Timah Road on Monday (Jul 31) afternoon. The 48-year-old was reportedly armed with a knife, according to Channel NewsAsia.
The police were notified of the case around 12:50pm, and just four hours later, the man was handcuffed around 4:50pm.
Shell Singapore released a statement saying the incident did not leave any employees or customers injured.
“As this incident is currently under police investigation, we are unable to comment further. The station has now resumed its business operations,” it said.
