Another day, another crocodile sighting in the waters of Singapore. Otter watch is so last summer, after all.

A Facebook user has been cautioning folks from dipping their toes at Pasir Ris beach, unless they want to have a potential brush with crocodiles who’ve apparently been residing in the waters for years. According to her, there are at least two to three of the massive cold-blooded reptiles in the area, and they’ve been “coexisting” with the park-goers for a long time. Apparently, even folks who’ve canoed and kayaked in the waters haven’t seen any aggressive behavior from the beasts.

“What should be done is for the general public to be educated on what to do in case of a crocodile encounter, and do not approach them, especially if you’ve not have the prior training to face these large, powerful animals,” she wrote, adding that they should be watched from a distance. Well yeah, we don’t exactly think we’ve reached that level of friendship with the crocs yet.

Responses from netizens have been mixed. Some agreed with her, echoing sentiments that the longtime scaly inhabitants of Pasir Ris beach should be left alone.

Others reacted accordingly, like anyone would after learning that a predatory pack of living descendants of dinosaurs have made the waters off a park their home.
