We smell patriotism in the air once again. Apparently, a photo submitted on r/singapore (thanks, u/TH3-331) shows a vacated Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) terminal with shipping containers arranged into a “Happy b’day SG” greeting, which can be seen from a bird’s-eye view.

With Singapore turning 52 this year, we’re guessing the Tanjong Pagar terminal is lining up its final hurrah as it makes way for redevelopment with the Greater Southern Waterfront City project. PSA will be shifting a majority of its operations to Pasir Panjang terminal before making the move to a new facility in Tuas when the landmark next-gen port is up and ready by 2040.

That being said, we admire the elaborate effort to celebrate Singapore’s 52nd birthday — we’ll probably see it on TV screens as aerial cameras pan around the island come Aug 9. Guess it’s too big a secret to contain (hurhur) after all.
