It’s barely been a month since the infernal monstrosity that was the blaze at a Tuas waste management plant, but another fire sought to repeat that event, this time in Tanjong Kling at Jurong.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the fire at approximately 12.15pm and updated its Facebook page with a warning to stay away from the area. A total of three fire engines, three Red Rhinos, two firebikes, one ambulance, two Unmanned fighting Machines, and seven support vehicles were deployed to the scene.

A video posted by The Straits Times showed a tower of smoke seen from a distance:

As of SCDF’s latest update, the flames have been extinguished successfully within two hours of its arrival, and the resulting carnage fortunately did not escalate to the level of the blaze in Tuas last month. Damping down—  a term to describe dampening burnt surfaces to prevent a rekindling of the fire — is currently still in progress. No injuries were reported.
