Welp, here we go again. The horrendous grammar of another picture-ready, brand-shilling social media influencer is gaining heat, just days after the loquacious shenanigans of a blogger went viral on social media.
On Sunday, local dank meme Facebook page Kiasu Memes For Singaporean Teens unearthed an Instagram post by an influencer back in December last year. Her copy’s obvious attempt to hype up Japanese ramen joint Ajisen Ramen was unfortunately marred by substandard levels of English language. The first sentence of her photo’s caption wrecked the quality of the brand’s offerings — the blogger must have really hated her experience because “@ajisensg never fails to disappoint”.
After the meme went viral on KMFST, the blogger in subject edited her Instagram post… to “@ajisensg have delicious ramens”. We would have linked the post here, but it seems like she took down her entire account.
Alas, another social media influencer didn’t get the memo. In an Instagram post earlier today endorsing car rental firm AKA Car Rental, she also never failed to disappoint us with the usage of the very same “never fail to disappoint” gaffe.
Naturally, commenters never failed to mock the post on the Singaporean Influencers and Bloggers Write SHIT English and are Annoying AF Facebook page.
Of course, if the blogger was in on the joke, it’d be a pretty witty way to garner some online traction. But knowing the basic-ness of folks who choose to market themselves as social media influencers, we highly doubt it.
