The fight is certainly not over for Amos Yee.
Weeks after walking away free following a backdated four-week jail sentence for wounding religious feelings and circulating an obscene image online, the 17-year-old blogger has filed an appeal against his conviction and sentence with the High Court.
According to court documents, the appeal was filed by Yee’s lawyer, Alfred Dodwell, on Jul 16, reports Channel NewsAsia.
The High Court will now have to decide if the presiding judge was correct in terms of the conviction and the sentence.
Meanwhile, Yee is back on Facebook and an hour ago has asked his lawyer “to sue the guy who hit me in the face” because “prolonging that is really aggravating my mental condition”.
That man is Neo Gim Huah, 49, who on May 11 pleaded guilty to one charge of voluntarily causing hurt by slapping Yee on the face, to teach him a lesson, and quickly ran away like a coward.
A district judge had sentenced him to three weeks in prison.
