This time next year, you could be saying ‘aloha’ to the beaches of Hawaii after disembarking from a Scoot plane. The budget carrier is reportedly planning to launch a flight to Honolulu — with a pitstop in Osaka, Japan — by the end of the year.
According to The Straits Times, the new service by Scoot awaits approval from United States authorities. Mind you, the budget airline is still in the midst of planning (and understandably hasn’t put out a statement), but if it does work out, a trip to Hawaii could become way more affordable than what it is now. Duration-wise, it’ll take six hours and 40 minutes to get from here to Osaka, while it’s seven hours and 50 minutes from Osaka to Hawaii.
Scoot currently offers flights within the Asia-Pacific, Australia and India, but come June, they’ll debut their new route to Europe.
If you recall, Scoot and Tigerair, both Singapore Airlines subsidiaries, are merging into a single brand — the integration will be complete by the end of July.
