The Malaysian national charged for the extremely bloody murder of her landlord at Yishun Ring Road has been remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for two weeks with a pending psychiatric evaluation.
34-year-old Woo Mui Mee was arrested last week for her involvement in the death of 76-year-old retiree Wong Keng Woo, by way of a paper cutter. A three-metre long trail of blood was left at the corridor outside the HDB unit.
Channel NewsAsia reports that Woo’s charges have been revised to voluntarily causing grievous hurt — which doles out a heavier sentence from her previous charge of voluntarily causing hurt.
She now faces life in prison or 15 years’ jail and a fine.
