A motorist is urging members of the public to help identify a driver accused of fleeing the scene after a collision left him and his car wrecked on a patch of grass.

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, the motorist in question was rear-ended hard after making a left turn onto Bukit Timah Road, causing him to lose control of the car before smashing through a road barrier and slamming down into a patch of ground below street level. A dash cam clip captures the horrendous moment of impact and the aftermath, with the driver’s passenger crying out in pain.

According to the Facebook post by Debbie Simpson Ong, who shared the clips on behalf of her still-unnamed friend, one victim suffered injuries to his arm and leg.

The view from the rear dash cam shows a Mazda car failing to slow down in time and caused the collision. The culprit is said to be a private hire car driver, and allegedly drove away without exchanging particulars or even checking on the victims.

While the alleged hit-and-run driver is obviously in the wrong, some netizens pointed out that the victim should have kept to the extreme left lane in the first place instead of cutting straight into the middle lane.
