The 12 new stations along the Downtown Line will finally be available for travel on Dec 27 onwards, and the Land Transport Authority is inviting all to get onboard with free commuting till Jan 1 next year.
The 16.6km long Downtown Line 2 includes interchange stations at Little India, Newton, Botanic Gardens and Bukit Panjang, as well as easy access to Bukit Timah eateries near Beauty World Centre, Sixth Avenue, The Rail Mall and more. Al-Azhar, here we come.
Ahead of the official commencement of passenger service, there’ll be a launch party on Dec 5, where the public will get a free preview and rides along the 12 new stations from 10am to 6pm. Celebrities such as Irene Ang, Chua Enlai, Alaric Tay, Suhami Yusof and more will be dropping by the celebrations, as well as a bevy of games and activities for the family.
