Low-cost carrier AirAsia Singapore will introduce direct flights to two new destinations, Kota Bharu commencing Apr. 21 and Kuala Terengganu on Apr. 22.
AirAsia will operate four times weekly from Singapore to Kota Bharu; and three times weekly to Kuala Terengganu.
The new routes will be a gateway for travellers going to the popular Malaysian beach destinations Redang and Perhentian Islands.
Perhentian Islands, a popular diving spot, is easily accessible from Kota Bharu. Upon arriving at the Kota Bharu airport, travellers are recommended to hop on a short 1.5 hour bus / taxi ride to Kuala Besut, for a 30-minute speedboat ride to the islands.
Kuala Terengganu provides convenient access to the Redang Island, a well-known for its sandy beaches and clear waters. From Kuala Terengganu airport, travellers can easily hop on a bus/taxi to Merang Jetty before taking a 40-minute ferry ride to Redang Island.
In conjuction with the launch, AirAsia is offering all travellers a base introductory fare of $0 for a one-way trip if you book from today till Feb. 16, and travel from Apr. 21 — Oct. 25 for Kota Bharu and Apr. 22 — Oct. 25 for Kuala Terengganu.
