After 4 years of cutting red tape, Singapore’s first bungee-jumping tower begins construction

Coming to Sentosa’s Siloso Beach Resort by the end of the year: Singapore’s very first permanent bungy tower.

Thrill-seekers will soon no longer have to travel across the borders (or puke on their friends at Clarke Quay) to get their dose of adrenaline running once New Zealand’s bungee operator AJ Hackett International finishes construction. Offering a jump height of 47m (and an option of jumping from the roof), the tower will allow folks to swing, skywalk and have a lofty view of Siloso Beach on its Skybridge.

According to A.J. Hackett himself, the construction of the tower has been a long time coming ever since 2012. “After a huge amount of work — having to change the law in Singapore, going through a major amount of local regulations and bureaucracy — we’re finally at a point now where we’re going to start construction early in 2016,” a worn-out Hackett says in his update about the project. Ah, the infamous Singaporean red tape, we totes understand mate.
