Yesterday morning, a serious car crash occurred at the junction of Jalan Sultan and Victoria Street, injuring eight people. Seven were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and one to Singapore General Hospital — four sustained serious injuries.
Photos emerged from Lianhe Wanbao showing a grey car smashed headfirst into a fallen traffic light and a damaged black MPV. It is believed that one vehicle was on Victoria Street while the other was on Jalan Sultan when the incident happened. Reportedly, the grey car crashed into the right side of the black car at the junction, and then one of the cars hit a 71-year-old female pedestrian.
The other injured people include the driver and six passengers from the grey car.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the accident around 8.15am and sent one fire engine, one Red Rhino, five ambulances and two support vehicles to the scene.
