An elderly woman found lying in a pool of blood. Her husband under arrest for her murder. Police handcuffing the 68-year-old man and leading him away from the couple’s sixth floor Compassvale Crescent flat.
That’s the gist of what transpired last night, after police received a call for assistance from one of the woman’s daughters in the late afternoon.
The 63-year-old victim, who was found motionless by the police, is believed to have suffered several injuries, although no weapon was found. Neighbours have come forward to say they didn’t notice any unusual commotion going on, and expressed their shock at the incident. According to The Straits Times, she was pronounced dead by the paramedics at 5pm. Police have classified the case as murder, with investigations underway.
