A couple weeks ago, one Facebook post about someone puncturing the seat of a public bus with toothpicks went viral. Luckily, the Facebook user, who almost sat on the sharp, pointy things managed to catch herself in time and didn’t get injured.

As it turns out, a 60-year-old man is currently being investigated for allegedly being the one behind the deed. According to the police, the suspect was identified with the help of CCTV footage and extensive ground enquiries.

The management of the bus company had lodged a police report last Friday (Aug 4) about a passenger seat that was “perforated with toothpicks”, and now the man is being investigated for mischief. It is believed that the bus was an SBS Transit one, reported The Straits Times.

If convicted of committing mischief, the man faces a jail sentence of up to two years with a fine. Investigations are currently ongoing.
