About 50 people were evacuated by firefighters and the police this morning when fire broke out at a warehouse opposite IMM in Jurong East.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted around 7.40am to a blaze at 30 Toh Guan Road, where fire had engulfed the external facade of Cambridge Industrial Trust building. A total of two fire engines, two Red Rhinos, two fire bikes, five support vehicles, and two ambulances were deployed to the premises.

The fire itself involved contents of the warehouse, and it was extinguished within 40 minutes using three water jets. The blaze had one casualty — a 54-year-old woman who was conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for burn injuries. According to various reports, she died at the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
