47-year old ‘Geylang lookout’ arrested

A joint operation led by the Bedok Police Division resulted in the arrest of 159 suspects, including a 47-year-old man alleged to be providing and selling information on police movement to crime syndicates in Geylang.

The ‘lookout’ was arrested at the Police Cantonment Complex vicinity with two binoculars, one telescope and two Iden handsets. Another 18 communication devices and a motorised bicycle believed to have been used to keep surveillance on Police operation were also seized.

If found guilty of intentionally obstructing the course of justice, he faces a maximum jail sentence of seven years.

Nine suspects arrested in the operation face a similar charge, with three of them facing an additional charge of assisting in the management of a brothel.
