A man and three women had to be taken to Changi General Hospital yesterday afternoon after an SBS Transit double-decker bus crashed into a pedestrian walkway in Bedok.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were alerted to the scene at 1:30pm outside Bedok Residences, where a 38-year-old man and three women — aged 33, 37 and 55 — sustained injuries from the accident.
One of the women was trapped underneath the bus, and rescuers had to utilize hydraulic lifting equipment to extricate the lady out.
Though the casualties had to be conveyed to hospital, they didn’t have any life-threatening injuries, The New Paper reported.
It’s unclear how the driver lost control of the double-decker bus, but investigations are being carried out with the help of SBS Transit.
A spokesperson for the transport operator expressed an apology on behalf of the company, noting that a team was sent to the hospital to offer their support for the injured.
