Under a joint agreement by Guardian Health and Beauty and Parkway Shenton, a new initiative that enables healthcare group nurses to carry out flu and shingles jabs has rolled out at four Guardian pharmacies as of yesterday.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the outlets are – Great World City, Nex, Ngee Ann City and Northpoint.
If the scheme is well-received, it’ll progressively extend to all 148 outlets island-wide, and possibly into the Malaysia and Hong Kong market too.
Parkway Shenton is also proposing to offer after-office prescription and consultation services at its pharmacies.
This could make vaccination more affordable and accessible to patients.
Parkway Shenton Group CEO, Dr. Khor Chin Kee said, “Services like immunisation, basic health screening where a blood test can be done at the retail mall, pharmacist, rather than actually going to the clinic and queuing up with sick patients at the same time.”
Guardian is now giving out 1,000 vaccinations to both low-income families and elderly to celebrate the launch of its new initiative.
