Three-metre-long python found stuck in a drain at Braddell Road

A 3.5m python was found stuck in a drain outside the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Academy this morning, Channel NewsAsia reports.

The non-venomous constrictor snake was first spotted BCA security guard Mr. Kumar, who said the snake looked to be approximately 18 – 20kg. He alerted a staff member of the academy, and the relevant authorities were notified.

According to CNA, the responding Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) team discovered that the python had tried to squeeze itself through the metal grill covering the drain — which leads to a large canal — when half its body got stuck.

The python was eventually freed.
