Giving birth is agony enough — but a couple in Singapore recently went through an emergency delivery right in their living room of their own home. Thankfully, there were three paramedic officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to render assistance.

Apparently, the wife woke her husband up when she felt the pangs of labor, but since she couldn’t move, he was unable to drive her to the hospital. So they called for an ambulance, and when it arrived, it became clear that there was no time to waste — the delivery had to happen there and then.

In a Facebook post expressing his gratitude, the husband praised officer-in-charge Kitshan and the two medics, Shafiq Rhymia and Samo Iqbal, for delivering his second baby boy in a calm and professional manner. He remarked that his wife and newborn were “well taken care of and in good hands”, thanks to the SCDF officers, and he even sent out an official letter to show his appreciation.
