3 more estates getting Green Man+

As hip as it sounds, Green Man+ is not for the millenials.

It’s a traffic system that gives elderly pedestrians who want the moment to last up to 13 seconds extra time to cross the street, depending on the size of the road.

Introduced in 2009, there were 495 pedestrian crossings in 30 housing estates that offered this technology as of 2013. Pedestrians need only to tap a special-issue card to activate the feature.

This year, according to Land Transport Authority, three more estates will have it: Jurong, Marine Parade and Chinatown.

Just an idea: How about a Green Man Drunk traffic signal?
