A fatal accident on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) yesterday afternoon took the life of a young Singaporean man who had been riding on his red Ducati motorcycle.
The accident took place on the highway in the direction towards Changi around 4.30pm, when a truck collided with the 25-year-old motorcyclist, The Straits Times reports. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
The 50-year-old Malaysian driving the truck in question was promptly arrested for causing death by negligent act. The accident caused a massive jam on the PIE that stretched all the way to Bukit Batok, and only eased after 8.30pm.
Police investigations are ongoing.
