20-year-old SAF regular found dead at Sembawang Camp while on guard duty

A young Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular was found dead in Sembawang Camp on Saturday afternoon, with the cause of his death undisclosed by the Ministry of Defence. 

Specialist Cadet Trainee S. Pravinraj, 20, was pronounced dead by paramedics at around 3.10pm, while he was carrying out guard duty in the camp. 

“The Ministry of Defence and the SAF extend their deepest condolences to the family of the late serviceman and are assisting the family in this time of grief,” wrote Mindef in their press release. 

Police investigations are currently ongoing.
