Senior Minister of State for Transport Ms. Josephine Teo revealed in Parliament yesterday that a total of 1,500 pieces of unclaimed baggage were left at the Singapore Changi Airport from 2010 to 2013.
Channel NewsAsia writes that handling unclaimed baggage is part of airlines’ policy and some are known to donate or dispose of the bags after a period of time has passed.
Ms. Teo also revealed that there aren’t more than 20 cases of passengers not boarding their flights after checking in and these are usually due to them going to the wrong gate, arriving behind the scheduled departure time and being held up by previous connecting flights.
