Last Wednesday night, a tragedy occurred at Block 183, Jelebu Road, in Bukit Panjang. According to Lianhe Wanbao, a 13-year-old boy was wearing his Zhenghua Secondary School uniform when he allegedly jumped to his death around 10.30pm at an HDB block nearby. It is believed that he was not a resident of the housing estate.
Unsuspecting neighbours were shocked to hear of the incident — several of them thought the loud crash was a thrown object hitting the ground. Paramedics rushed to the scene, and pronounced him dead from his injuries. A few onlookers gathered at the area cordoned off by the police, but no one has come forward with information on what happened or why the student was found near his school so late at night.
Investigations are underway.
