An 11-year-old Singaporean boy died from dengue on August 30, after a coroner’s report confirmed his cause of death. After being admitted to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, he passed away on the same day, according to a joint statement from the Ministry of Health and the National Environment Agency.
He lived at Woodleigh Close, which was an active two-case dengue cluster, but has since been closed after no breeding was detected there.
This makes him the eighth reported dengue fatality this year.
The NEA will continue its routine surveillance to check for and destroy any potential breeding habitats.
