An explosion caused around 100 people to be evacuated this morning at an Audi Service Centre in Ubi.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force today said they were alerted to the incident at 55 Ubi Road 1 at around 8:55am and found that a section of a wall on the side of the building’s ground floor had collapsed. No fire was reported.

About 100 people were evacuated prior with one sent to the Raffles Hospital for a fall. Investigations are ongoing.

Audi Singapore also released a statement confirming the incident and said that the UBI 55 building has been closed until further notice.

According to an eyewitness account, the carpark just outside the office was covered in glass shards and debris due to the explosion.

“We went outside to take a look and noticed that a large section of wall and glass was no longer there, and that the carpark outside our office was littered with glass shards and other debris,” the witness said.
