It’s crazy how time flies by — it felt like it was just a while ago we were grooving on the muddy grounds to Blood Orange and getting drenched in the rain while dancing to Foals. That was in Neon Lights way back in 2016, and Singapore went without the late-year music and arts festival for over a year.

Good news for all you lovers of alt culture then, because Neon Lights is making a comeback this November. This time, they’re expanding to three days (Nov 9-11) at Fort Canning, featuring the same stellar line-up of live music, arts programmes, and activities.

“We’re thrilled to return this November for the third edition of Neon Lights,” said festival director Declan Forde. “We’ve put a lot of thought into the line-up to ensure quality and range for everyone.”

Details about the stages and arts schedule are scant for now, but the confirmed list of bands coming for the third edition of Neon Lights is pretty formidable. Big names such as Interpol, Yuna, Caribou, Rhye and Cigarettes After Sex are interspersed with smaller outfits such as Bodega and Sticky Fingers.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper local festival without regional talent, and that arrives in the form of two super-hyped indie acts Sobs and Riot !n Magenta from Singapore, as well as Phum Viphurit from Thailand.

The full line-up will be progressively announced over the next couple of months, but if you feel that it’s already good enough to earn your hard-earned cash, limited early bird tickets are already on sale today, with prices starting at $99. Judging from the mad fun we had the last time around, yeah, it’s best you get a ticket now (while it’s still relatively affordable) for a good time in the November rain.
