Put on your headphones and dance to the beat of your own drum at Silent Disco Asia’s upcoming Marina Bay waterfront party. Hailed as the world’s first pop-up Silent Disco nightclub, the outdoor event, which is part of i Light Marina Bay 2017, will take place over every weekend in March.
Here’s what you gotta do to be part of the cool kids — wear the rechargeable and energy efficient wireless LED headphones and pick from one of the three channels for your melody of choice. There’s electronic house, EDM, rock, indie and pop tunes for you to groove to, and since the headsets are noise-cancelling, you won’t even register the passers-by staring at you weirdly for dancing in silence. You’ll probably be too busy having a ball.
For families who wanna join in the fun, sign up for the daytime sessions with teenybopper tunes by the likes of Katy Perry and the Biebz. But if those names terrify you mums and dads, fret not; there’ll be ’80s and ’90s classics thrown into the mix just so you can retain your sanity.
Oh, and here’s something interesting. Yoga fanatics can check out the Silent Yoga workshop (done in collab with Soulscape), where you’ll put on those same noise-cancelling headphones to listen to instructors giving you guidance. Very zen, indeed.
