Nevertheless, options are always good — and we picked out only the most happening parties and places to be to kick off your new year. From underground shindigs to rooftop bashes, beach romps to urban carousals, we’ve got just the thing for you to usher in yet another long weekend.

Good Times NYE Partay | Blu Jaz Café

When you have three storeys to hold a New Year’s party, then you better put on a legit NYE party. Featuring a roster of underground homegrown bands, DJs and artists like Pleasantry, Fauxe, Cashew Chemists, Jaydah, FZPZ and helluva lot more, tickets are only $20 with a free drink. With that crazy lineup and that many acts, it’s a killer deal we say.

Free entry, free beer till midnight, some chicken courtesy of Wings World Singapore — man these people really know how to throw a party. Music-wise, there will be tropical-tinged funk, reggae, afrobeat, house, drum & bass and more to bring it the new year. Who needs fancy nonsense and floating stages when it comes to having a great NYE party?

Lepark like its the 90s | Lepark

If being nostalgic about the 90s your kinda thing, flock together with the other 90s kids at Lepark for their 90s themed countdown party. Double denim, vests, mom jeans, Doc Martens or white sneakers, colourful tracksuits, and plaids — wear them proud, wear them loud because it may be the dawn of a new year but 90s kids never forget.

Old school style, Mexican bar Piedra Negra are throwing a laneway party at Haji Lane. Come early, as in first-50-customers-early because earlybirds get a free shot on the house. There’ll be a couple of street parties going on simultaneously on Haji Lane so that’s gonna be fun when worlds collide.

Brand New Day: A 2-Day Beach Extravaganza | Tanjong Beach Club

You know that feeling when you look forward to the NYE party and then it happens and then that’s it? The folks are Tanjong Beach Club know that very well. Which is why when you party at TBC, the party goes on for two days. There’s a countdown party AND a New Year’s Day brunch to start the first day of 2016 right.

Last New Year’s Eve at Jiak Kim: The Final Victory | Zouk

Spend your last ever NYE party at the iconic Jiak Kim Road club, Zouk before it changes addresses to Clarke Quay — then you can party there next year. Still, get nostalgic about your first clubbing experience, say goodbye to Velvet and Phuture, do your final twirl beneath the mighty chandelier, and then accept that life goes on.

After Dark’s New Years Countdown Party | Kilo Lounge

Kilo recently had to cease operations due to licensing issues unfortunately but not before they have an NYE and farewell party at their digs. Having hosted a slew of classy dance parties this year, let’s hope they’ll continue doing so at a different venue.

1 Altitude

Don’t deny Singaporeans their fireworks on special occasion — and don’t deny them of a great spot to take pictures and and videos of them colourful sparkly thingies. Boasting probably the best view, 1 Altitude’s NYE party is probably exclusive because you gotta call to make reservations. But more exclusive means more legit, right?

Marina Bay Singapore Countdown | The Float @ Marina Bay

This party has everything. The man who split a nation into two — Adam freaking Lambert —  fireworks, a hashtag to tag your photos on social media, television broadcast, Mediacorp DJs, Mediacorp stars, contestants from Mediacorp shows. It’s the party everyone will be watching because it is the only one telecasted on television.

Chill at home | Anyone’s house

Order in, BYO wine and beers, invite close friends who also hate crowds, watch the Marina Bay Countdown they’re showing on telly (or not), and just celebrate the new year the best way you can — with your own friends, your favourite music, and any damn movie you want to watch — and in your jammies if you want to. Nobody will judge.
