Friday, Mar 10

Armenian Street Party 2017

Throw on your best vintage threads (or school uniforms, if they still fit) and make your way to Armenian Street for a nostalgia-filled retro party with performances and interactive installations that will bring you back to the days of PE classes, science lab sessions and tuck shop hangouts.

Boutiques Spring 2017: Singapore & Beyond

It’s time for another edition of this fashionable market — pop over for new collections of apparel, accessories, homeware and even furniture from indie, Singapore-based businesses including Matter, The Well Dressed Society, The Tui Collection and Ling Wu. If you have a spare moment, stay for activities like floral demonstrations, makeovers and weaving workshops.

Children’s Festival

Stroll across the grounds of Gardens by the Bay to spot all the brightly-coloured, life-sized dinosaurs, then check out interactive storytelling sessions, go crazy at the free waterplay areas, sign up for a fossil and excavation workshop, hop on a carnival ride, or just enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer.

Don Ho — Grand Opening Weekend

There’s a new name on the ever-so-cool Keong Saik Road, and it’s celebrating its opening with a bang. Turn up for dinner in the evening, then stay till late for ‘tropical surprise’ performances, drink promos and a limbo competition at Don Ho.

Full Moon Party

Head up high to this rooftop lounge for a sophisticated full moon shindig with a backdrop of R&B, house, disco and funk beats all night long.

10pm-late at CÉ LA VI. $20.

Impossible

Fill your world with wonder and enchantment as the theatrical spectacle spotlights six performers and their death-defying stunts, sleight of hand tricks and majestic illusions on stage.

Raise the Roof II

Groove to catchy beats by DJs on a rooftop terrace at the second instalment of this #WOOBARGoestoTown party series.

The Music of Hans Zimmer vs John Williams

Take a breather from your hectic week and immerse yourself in the best works by two film composer greats — Hans Zimmer and John Williams. The men themselves won’t be there, but the orchestra will perform tunes from flicks such as The Dark Knight Rises, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter.

Saturday, Mar 11

Art Day Out! x Singapore Design Week 2017

The daytime open house at Gillman Barracks features new gallery exhibitions, cool showcases, workshops, presentations, performances, free activities and loads more.

2pm-7pm at Gillman Barracks. Free.

Oval the Rainbow

The Seletar Aerospace Park area is open for its first ever festival, with fun stuff like a bossaball challenge, a dog adoption drive, crafty workshops, roving balloon artists, and an outdoor screening of Up complete with free flow popcorn and candy floss.

2pm-9.30pm at The Oval, 3 Park Ln. Free.

Plentyfull’s Weekend Family Carnival

The restaurant is hosting a lively carnival for families, with activities like face-painting, balloon sculpting, colouring and cake pop-making for little ones. At the buffet, you’ll be treated to free flow salads and desserts, as well as one main, with options like pork and sage mini burgers and duck leg confit.

Until Mar 12; 10.30am-1pm or 1.30pm-4pm at Plentyfull. Adults $60, children between the ages of five to 12 $25. 

 

Sunday, Mar 12

Smack My Beach Up Special

Laze away your Sunday at the beach with disco and house beats by the likes of Pete Herbert and Dicky Trisco.
