Friday, Dec 15

A Double Bill: The Steve McQueens x Wonk

Settle in for an evening of soul and jazz by the likes of funky local outfit The Steve McQueens and Japanese experimental soul band Wonk.

8pm at Esplanade Annexe Studio. $30.

Bee Gees Gold

Step back in time to the golden years of the Bee Gees at this tribute band performance and sing along to hits like I Started A Joke, Stayin’ Alive, and You Should Be Dancing.

BookFest

Stop by the book festival for bargain buys and new product launches, with the Gadgets & IT Show hosted in its premises for the first time. Activities and workshops on offer include zumba workout sessions and live cooking demonstrations.

BXO Caribbean Night

Sip on rum cocktails (all drinks are $12 nett) as you get jiggy to AfroHouse beats by DJ Maksibs to kick start the weekend merrymaking.

CHIJMES Christmas Market

Check out the array of lifestyle goods and crafts at CHIJMES, with activities like Christmas carolling, acoustic music performances, and more.

Prudential Marina Bay Carnival

Singapore’s largest carnival comes to town today, with thrilling and kid-friendly rides and carnival games to keep you entertained for the next few months.

Santa’s Workshop at The South Pole

South Beach Avenue turns into a Christmas extravaganza for one day as The Local People take over, with live music performances, an art market, fundraising carnival games, a screening of Michelle Chong’s Lulu The Movie, calligraphy workshops, and loads more.

Until Dec 17; noon-10pm at South Beach Avenue. Free.

Singapore $5 Pub Crawls

For weekends of booze-fuelled fun, sign up for a night out with Singapore Pub Crawl, which is offering tours to four watering holes and a club along the Singapore River for just $5 this month (as opposed to the usual price of $35). Party-goers each get four free shots, drink deals, and free entry to the nightclub.

Every Friday and Saturday until Dec 30; 7:30pm-late. $5.

Cheek by Jowl x Park Bench Deli: Break Breads Not Backs

In support of the Happy People Helping People Foundation for the elderly cardboard collectors, this collab serves up Sri Lankan street snacks and beers by Pirate Life Brewing.

Crate and Barrel Christmas Market

Fans of C&B can head over to its two Orchard outlets for an afternoon of discounts, in-store activities, and more.

Noon-6pm at Crate and Barrel at Ion Orchard and orchardgateway @ emerald. Free.

Do You Remember the First Time? 12 Years of Eatmepoptart

In celebration of 12 years of Eatmepoptart, this party will be headlined by Supersect and Sobs, with support by DJs Thievves, Tom Shellsuit and Zhan. Online personality Preetipls will be hosting the shindig as you dance to the beats of rock, indie disco, pop, and trap.

10pm-late at Esplanade Annexe Studio. $35.

SIP Christmas Market

The cashless festive market in Punggol welcomes one and all for free kids’ craft workshops, a tour of the hydroponics and aquaponics farm, and a K-pop dance workout, alongside vendors hawking everything from hand-bound books and wind chimes to Christmas cards and natural skincare products.

Urban Ventures Street Party x House of Noise

The streets of Keong Saik will be closed for this rain or shine street party, featuring tunes by bands and DJs, F&B pop-up stalls by the likes of Bao Makers, Park Bench Deli, BottlesXO and more, as well as a Christmas market with vendors such as Beans to Bars, Hush Candle, Monument Lifestyle, and Dawnut’s Factory. Also look out for a pop-up barber, free beauty services and face painting sessions, and an urban planning workshop.

4pm-10:30pm at Keong Saik Rd. Free.
