After all that Nathan Hartono/Sing! China/Milo madness — if you recall, the local singer consistently made headlines when he joined Jay Chou’s team on the Chinese singing competition and made it all the way to second place at the finals — another Singaporean musician has wowed the judges on the TV show’s second season.

Enter Joanna Dong, a 35-year-old jazz singer, host and actress with an EP (from 2008) under her belt. She impressed three out of four judges with her jazzy rendition of ‘Love Song, 1990’, and chose Mandopop king Jay Chou — the first one to turn his chair — to be her mentor on the show.

Watch her lovely performance below — and yes, she can do the ‘mouth trumpet’ thing, too. (Her segment starts at the 2:55 mark.)
