The combined strength of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Central Band, the SAF Music and Drama Company, and the Silent Precision Drill Squad made quite a show recently in the Virginia Arts Festival — it was the first time they had ever played in the United States.
Folks attending the Virginia International Tattoo — the festival’s hallmark exhibition of military bands, choirs, dancers, and the such — were treated to a medley of Singaporean classics, including the national anthem and a few National Day tunes. From the boisterous applause they received from the stands, it looks like the SAF Central Band absolutely killed it at the show.

Military Expert-5 officer Steven Tan even made an appearance on ABC’s 13News Now to drum up some excitement for Singapore’s appearance in this year’s celebrations.
