Time passes by really quickly. Did you realize that it’s been more way more than a year since local crooner Nathan Hartono finished runner-up in the Sing! China competition?

Though the man’s been generally laying low (except for a couple of stints with Milo and the Singapore Tourism Board) last year, it seems like he’s ready to take on the world of Mandopop proper now. Yesterday, the 26-year-old launched a dazzling music video for his debut Mandarin single, “爱超给电”.

The single’s title loosely translates to “Electric Love”, and keen fans of Hartono will recognize that “爱超给电” is a revamped, livelier version of his 2016 English-language single “Electricity”, which also has a pretty superb music video.

To really hammer in the fact that he’s breaking into the Chinese market, Hartono’s actually launched another music video for “爱超给电”, this time shot in Tokyo’s La Cittadella entertainment center. You can watch it on MTV Asia’s spotty video player right now if you want, or wait for its eventual release on YouTube.
