Not all who wander around Asia’s largest mirror maze are lost — some are just busy taking selfies with the trippy surroundings. That’s ’cause the Science Centre Singapore’s new permanent exhibition, Professor Crackitt’s Light Fantastic Mirror Maze, features 105 mirror cells, over 17 light displays, holograms, and ‘fake’ exits over its 270 sqm space. It’s also the setting for an escape room game, for the non-claustrophobic ones among us who’d like to test your escape room skills.
Part of the Science Centre Singapore’s 40th anniversary celebrations, the kaleidoscopic experience is led by fictional character Professor Crackitt, an eccentric figure who offers up fun facts about light and reflection throughout the maze (in the name of ‘edutainment’). Debuting alongside this is another permanent exhibition called The Mind’s Eye, which displays over 30 optical illusions.
Admissions to both exhibitions are free, but standard entry fees to the Science Centre Singapore apply. And if you’re not a fan of boisterous kids, perhaps you’ll consider visiting the exhibitions sometime after the June holidays.
