Go around the world in a day to feast your eyes on UNESCO world heritage sites — in Lego form. Piece of Peace, a UNESCO world heritage art exhibition built with Lego bricks, makes its Southeast Asian debut on our shores with 34 replicas of UNESCO heritage sites from 25 countries. The one-time-only showcase won’t return to Singapore after it leaves to continue its world tour, so this is your only chance to catch a glimpse of the Lego reconstructions of everything from Australia’s Sydney Opera House to Hungary’s Buda Castle to Greece’s Acropolis.

The Singapore leg of the Japan-originated exhibition also includes replicas of nine world heritage sites from ASEAN countries put together by local builders, so look out for models of Indonesia’s Borobudur Temple Compounds, Myanmar’s Pyu Ancient Cities, and Singapore’s very own Botanic Gardens. If you’d like to contribute to the Lego works, build your own creations at the community art project space or let your little ones loose at the kids play zone.

Here’s a preview of some of the Lego works.

To ensure the entire population of Singapore doesn’t descend on the exhibition all at once, a maximum of 1,800 visitors will be allowed into the showcase each day.

Piece of Peace is on from July 27-Sept 3 at Fort Canning Arts Centre. Mon-Thurs 10am-9pm, Fri-Sun 10am-midnight. $13-$19.
