Singapore is known for its tropical climate, but soon it will also be home to a new sport and lifestyle attraction that offers snow, surf, and skate experiences under one roof.
Trifecta, located next to Somerset Skate Park, is set to open on Oct. 28, 2023, and is slated to be a unique destination for adventure seekers and thrill lovers.
Trifecta is the brainchild of The Ride Side, a local company that specializes in adventure sports and travel. The facility features three main attractions: a snow arena, a surf pool, and a skate bowl.
The snow arena is the first of its kind in Singapore, where visitors can ski and snowboard on simulators and dry slopes that mimic the feel of real snow. The simulators can accommodate up to three riders at a time, and can adjust the speed (up to 35 kilometers an hour), angle and tilt of the slope to suit different skill levels. The dry slopes are designed for freestyle riders who want to practice tricks and jumps on rails, ramps and airbags.
The surf pool is the largest standing wave pool in Asia, where surfers can ride waves up to 1.5 meters high. The pool creates artificial waves that are consistent and adjustable, catering to beginners who want to learn the basics of surfing, as well as advanced surfers who want to challenge themselves with different wave settings.
The skate bowl is the world’s first hybrid skate bowl, which is suitable for both skateboarding and surfskating, the latter being a form of skateboarding that mimics the movements of surfing on land.
To celebrate the opening of Trifecta, the facility will host a series of exciting events and activities from Oct. 28 to Nov. 19, featuring hundreds workshops for riders and non-riders with experts from Citywave and The Ride Side, community snow and skate jams, community art market showcasing local creators, film screenings, and more.
